Chamonix to Zermatt: the Walker's Haute Route

Explore one of Europe's classic long distance trails, the Walker's Haute Route.  We will start our trek in the fabled mountain town of Chamonix, at the foot of the Mont Blanc Massif, and enjoy views of the French alps for our first couple of days on trail before crossing the border to Switzerland.  In Switzerland we will stay in a number of Swiss mountain huts and cross pass after pass before descending into the stunning Mattertal, the valley that leads us towards the Matterhorn.  During the final days of this challenging trek we will also cross the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world, the 1620ft long Charles Kuonen Bridge above the town of Randa.
