Sunny Stroeer is a strategic leader, entrepreneur, and world-class endurance athlete who has built a career at the intersection of high-stakes business and high-altitude adventure. With a foundation built on a Harvard MBA and a career in strategy consulting, she deliberately applied her training not to a traditional corporate path, but to the complex and dynamic landscape of the outdoor world.
Sunny’s athletic career is a testament to her expertise in managing risk, navigating uncertainty, and sustaining performance under extreme pressure. As a specialist in high-altitude endurance, she has set speed records on iconic international objectives like Aconcagua and the Annapurna Circuit, in addition to being the first woman to complete the 1000-Mile Iditarod Trail Invitational on skis. These experiences in unforgiving environments provide the raw material for her work as a leader and storyteller.
As an entrepreneur, Sunny has built a portfolio of impactful organizations. She is the founder of AWExpeditions, a mountaineering guide service dedicated to advancing women's participation in the high mountains. She also serves as the executive director for the Summit Scholarship Foundation and the GEA Alliance, a 501(c)(3) that works to increase gender equity in outdoor adventure and beyond. Alongside her husband Paul, she co-owns and operates Dreamland Safari Tours, Southern Utah's premier guide service.
Sunny is a sought-after speaker who translates lessons from the edge of the possible into actionable insights on resilience, leadership, and systematic decision-making. Her photography has appeared in National Geographic, Forbes, and Trailrunner Magazine, and she is or has been a member of the global pro athlete teams of premier brands like LOWA Boots, Mountain Hardwear and GU Energy Labs.
